To all the wonderful mothers and grandmothers that chat here.
Happy Mothers Day!!
M - O - T - H - E - R By Howard Johnson (c. 1915) "M" is for the million things she gave me, "O" means only that she's growing old, "T" is for the tears she shed to save me, "H" is for her heart of purest gold; "E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining, "R" means right, and right she'll always be, Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER," A word that means the world to me.
to my cyber mom SuGar i hope this day is great for both you and dad. all the best to a wonderful woman, wife, mother, grandmother and i'm sure a whole lot more. i'm so glad i know you. Love you! xoxo

i'd like to wish each and every mother and mother-to-be a joyous, safe and wonderful Mother's Day
i also want to send out a shoutout to the men who are both mother and father to their children and may be raising them alone, as i was/am..in today's world it's not at all uncommon to see single moms raising their children, but when you are a single father..i raised my son by myself, without any support whatsoever from his mother or the state, since he was 7, he will soon be 26 and graduating from college in June..*happy dance*..i am currently raising my 13 yr old nephew
i could ramble on for days about the discrimination and shockingly sexist comments i was faced with raising him, as the social system is set up for women..i was even denied food stamps and got nothing but disapproving attitude when trying to get child support from his mother
but this isn't about the injustices of being a single dad in today's society or whining about the difficulties associated with it..its a salute to the men who have the ability and desire to raise their own, especially when it means that our own offspring is loved and nourished by a parent rather than being abandoned to other people..it's a thank you, when often being a parent is such a thankless job
my son started giving me a Mother's Day card when he was about 10..it was meant to be a bit of a joke then, but i cherished it each and every year..it meant the world to me that he saw me as both and i continue to look forward to it..maybe even more than Father's Day..almost any pinhead with a penis can be a Father..but it takes someone special to be Mom AND Dad to his child
i hope this makes sense to someone out there
Happy Mother's Day, fellas

A poem i found online:
There are Angels God puts on this earth Who care for us and guide us. You can feel their love and gentleness as they walk through life beside us.
They do great thingsfor us every day they whisper in our ears, they even hold us in their hearts when we are filled with all our fears.
They are always there to give a hug and try to make us smile. They treat us with respect and love, they treat us like their child.
God blessed me with an Angel, I'm proud to call my own. She's been with me throughout my life, been with me as I've grown.
She's guided me the best she can, she's taught me like no other, and I'm thankful I'm the lucky one who gets to call her.....
Mother

First of all, I hope all you moms had a beautiful Mother's Day and were completely spoiled! ~S
M, your post really touched me, I too am a single dad raising a son alone. I had lost my own parents when I was a teenager, and my son lost his mom in recent years, but she had never really been involved in his life and it saddened me that he would never get the opportunity to know her. It is hard being both Mom and Dad to a child, and I worry sometimes about him not having a mother in his life, but then realized I am so blessed that I have some great friends that have sort of "adopted" him as their own, so he has a lot of great role models that are women and I cherish the influenve they have in his life. ~S I took him to see his maternal grandmother for Mother's Day, he had only seen her a few times, it was a hard day for us, but it also turned into something beautiful and put another wonderful woman in his life that I hope he gets to see more often. Anyway, thank you for your post, it touched me.

Both You Men know, i've the deepest respect for You ..Single parenting is hard...
I, was a single parent and raised a boy and a girl on my own...and trust me...My girl was the hardest to raise...*lol*
So, fellas...*rme* be thankful You have boys, who will both learn what nurturing is all about and carry that with them for the rest of their lives...
Unlike You Savage, i had a very good support team...sisters, brother-inlaws...A kind and gentle Father and a wonderful Mother.
I applaud any Man that can take a firm, and gentle hand to a child and raise them..Be it Your own or Not!
Well Done Guys....well done!
but don't think for one darn minute...i won't be horning in on Your day....
I made a darn good Father to my kids....as well as a Mom....
Happy Parents Day....!
