No, I mean precisely what I asked - today - recent times - say in the last year or so.
Why would you ask if I meant 27 years ago?
You project in a number of areas on these boards that the video of Shirley Sherrod was from 27 years ago. It was not. It was from March of 2010 at an NAACP meeting. At that time Shirley Sherrod was articulating a story of an experience she had 24 years ago, quite a nice one about her epiphany on her own racism.
Yet in discussing her actions she says she sent the white farmer to a white attorney. She uses the word "white" to focus on the white members and "black" to focus on black members, which is very fine as without it no one would know what she was talking about.
She also, in her summary, "today", switches from using the word "white" so many times, appropriately, to the phrase "one of his/their own kind". I believe her story is overall a very wonderful one. Yet, had she stuck to the descriptive word "white" as she had been using in describing what she went through 24 years ago, there would be no question. Yet it is that switch to using "of his own kind" that is troubling to me.
I see you continually criticize others for "not answering questions". Noting you did not answer mine.
I believe the unbiased and honest answer is all of us would generally consider a person, no matter the color or race, who today uses the phrase "of their own kind" to reference a person and another race, is racist.
Did Shirley Sherrod overcome her self admitted racism in the farmers case 24 years ago and do good? I believe yes.
Is Shirley Sherrod still racist, or her core thinking patterns based on racial delineations? Unfortunately, based on her ability to continue, today, to use the phrase "of his own kind" I also think yes.
I also think her husband's words in speech, from January 2010, add to this discussion and provide some insight as well, regrettably. You'll find those posted...elsewhere.
BTW, since the UNEDITED version of the video has come out, and everyone in the administration who was foolish enough to freak out about Breitbart's latest propaganda piece has issued their apologies, and Sherrod has been offered a job, we've been posting on a new thread:

You "OMG girls" are welcome to join the discussion.
We've got the fainting couch waiting for you - just bring your pearls. Well well, where would we be without the Pork social secretary?
Oh dear. You sure showed me. Oh my. There you have it, I've been called out, mocked and insulted. Well, that certainly puts me in my place.
You are unable to carry on an intellectually honest discussion. Pathetic, but predictable.
