you have a choice

A) you dont get the medicine you need and die

or
B) you can get the medicine, but to get it, you have to sell someone else into slavery....

is getting to live a few years longer really worth taking some innocent bystanders freedom away from him....

"If possible, please quote for me some of the founding fathers that believed as you do, that government exists to take from some people and give that taken to others of their choosing"

nope pretty sure I never said or believed that...that's just a dumb strawman

what I'm asking for is why an educated population is good for society as a whole but healthy one is not...why do you allow your money to be taken from you to educate others?

since you are using terms contained in the preamble of the constitution I need to ask for some clarification before I can answer your question....

are you asking me about it this on a federal level of govt. or a state and local level of govt......

barry you said this "the founding fathers knew the difference between "provide" and "promote" "

currently you provide public education but not health care

both are public goods that enhance the welfare of the population

why are your tax dollars being used to educate someone that isn't you?....are you a socialist?

that answer is obvious

the federal dept of education in its current form is unconstitutional and shouldnt exist....

do you even know why the federal office of education was started....

it wasnt to fund and administrate education in the country...

it was to gather statistics on the number of educational institutions that existed in the country....

to count them and issue a report to congress on the number and type...

if you want to know the only things the federal govt is allowed to tax the citizens to do....you can find the list in article 1 section 8 of the constitution....

and nowhere on that list will you find "create schools"
