I Can See Clearly Now

I can see clearly now the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way,
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.

I think I can make it now the pain is gone,
And all of the bad feelings have disappeared,
Here is the rainbow I've been praying for.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Look all around, nothing but blue skies.
Look straight ahead, nothing but blue skies.

I can see clearly now the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.

It's not that Sarah Palin COULDN'T teach her daughter what a condom is - it's that she DIDN'T.

She's already stated that she believes in "abstinence only" sex education, which means she does not believe in teaching teenagers about birth control. She believes that telling your kids "DON'T" is enough to keep them from getting pregnant or getting STDs.

Well, we all know how well that one worked out, don't we?

NOW, that said...

I don't care HOW good a parent you are, or how well you teach your children right from wrong, they are going to screw up a few times. The best we can hope for is that the consequences are painful enough so that they learn a valuable lesson, but not so bad as to affect the rest of their lives.

Oh, and there's always the mother's curse - "I HOPE YOU SOMEDAY HAVE A CHILD THAT ACTS EXACTLY THE WAY YOU ACT!"

Again, what does any of that have to do with NObama being a bad president? I mean is she not allowed to call NObama a bad president? Why are you trying to discredit her? now that she's a private citizen isn't she allowed to express her own views.... Oh wait, that's it - she has the nerve to have a different view of the world then you do and that just makes you crazier than you already are.

Again, what does any of that have to do with calling Palin a dim whit? I mean, are we not allowed to call Palin a twit? Why are we not allowed to discredit a sleeze like her? Are we not allowed to express our own veiws? Oh wait, I get it! You think if you support her, you will get some too! No worries, come election day, the support line will not give you a long wait. As for crazy, you never ever heard me claim I am not. In fact.......................

ya know?...I have NO idea what the media's fascination is with Palin. I mean really...she might be a mental step up from Joe Biden, but still...President of the US?..don't think it will ever happen in my life. I open up the home page to CNN and pretty much everyday there is something about Palin. The media is making her a very rich woman. Hell I would have retired as the Governor of Alaska as well to take on those paychecks...and why is she making them?..because again...news media like CNN or Fox keep playing it up and making her out to be some sort of right deva...as far as her daughter getting pregnant?..you can lecture..and can follow your kids around as much as you would like...most likely that will encourage them to do the exact opposite. As a parent you can only do so much in teaching what your own personal beliefs are in regards to right and wrong.....there is a reason for the saying do you know the preachers daughter?

it slays me that the White house press secretary made mention of the hand notes....it isn't like they should be worried about the fact that the economy is going no where...and the approval ratings have decreased more that ever before...

that is what they want to discuss...and have the public think they are on the *job*...come on.

now now, if you think I am a paki as you call it, that is cool. And if you think my opinion matters more than yours, that is cool too. And if you think I am bound by the same things with Sp as you are, you are mistaken, I negotiate better.

It's not that Sarah Palin COULDN'T teach her daughter what a condom is - it's that she DIDN'T.

OK. Now explain to us all how in the hell you KNOW that she didn't teach her daughter about condoms. The fact is you and Pita DON'T know. Whether she believes in abstinence sex education doesn't matter. We still don't know exactly what she taught her daughters in private.

Another point, one that I'm a little dissapointed that even you fail to see, is this:

It is your's and Pita's contention that Sarah Palin did not teach her daughter about condoms. And as a result of this failure on her part, her daughter became pregnant and an unwed mother. That is a fair assessment and neither of you can deny that because that's exactly what both of you have said in one way or another.

Now according to what both of you have said you then must concede that her daughter didn't know anything about condoms (or other forms of birth control), didn't know what they're for, and didn't know how or where to get them because her mother didn't teach her about birth control. On top of that you must both concede that her moron boyfriend didn't know either. These two kids, in their late teens, didn't know ANYTHING about condoms or other forms of birth control.

So Pita and Kestrel, you both have two choices. One is to say to all of us that you actually believe that the two teenagers didn't know anything at all about birth control.

The other choice is to say oops! My bad. I guess those kids knew what they were doing and knew the possible consequences.

Now Kestrel, at the end of your post you actually make sense. You made the same point I made earlier. The problem is that it totally contradicts your first point.

So which is it? Is it Sarah Palin's fault or her daughter's and boyfriend's fault?
