SlutPup (7/11/2009) If you like waiting lists, Canada is for you..if you like actual health care - the US is the place you ought to be.... And judging from Kasteele's mental condition, I'd say Canada needs to improve its mental health care. i image he's just one bad day from climbing a clock tower.....
You sir, are a moron. Try answering without that attitude of yours for once. Me and bad days don't go together. But to the only real thing you said..waiting lists. The thing about waiting lists as opposed to US medical care. We may wait to have surgery, but when all is said and done, we do not pay 20,000 dollars a day for care. And yes, that is what a Canadian was charged when he suffered a broken leg in Texas just recently. That is common when anyone without insurance in your country gets hurt there. Kind of moronic. The lists in Canada do have a few reasons behind them. One is for time to make sure things are needed. It is true that the lists are too long, our medical has not caught up to our population. The richer our country gets, the more Americans come here. It is hard to care for all of them. WE are working on our lists, to help without causing people to mortgage their children to get doctor's help.

cuckoo clocks make you feel a bit uneasy? they do don't they...cuckoo....cuckoo.....cuckoo....cuckoo
and no, if an uninsured person goes to a public hospital, they cannot be turned down....regardless of their ability to pay. Oh and ever think there may have been an extra charge because A - the dumbass canuck - is from a different country and may have taken more administrative resources to process (after all we have to convert your...what..loon...loonie - no wait that's dollars) into good ole American green backs.......and B - because we're dealing with the canadian gov't...and fuck your tax dollars.
i guess lesson learned here is simple: keep you dumbass in canada.

With 14 million American visiting Canada, each month, perhaps you should keep your dumb asses in the states. As for your comment about not being turned away, I said NOTHING about beig turned away. I said only what he was charged to set his leg and get him ready to come home. I also said noting about the fact that this specific incident was during relief work for Katrina. That man would have lost his home because of idiots like you, if not for the people of our community paying your greedy asses off. The extra charges have nothing to do with being an outsider. If you bother to look up what a hospital stay costs in the US, you will find the average cost for one day, yes one day, is in excess of $20,000.00. It is true waiting lists there are shorter, because they do not include those who cannot afford to even think of going for treatment, they would rather die than take away from their families. That is sad. At least here, the hospital costs do not contribute to that kind of a problem. People there may not be turned away, but by the time they can go to emerg for treatment, they are to close to eath for treatment to be useful.
As for clocks, I could see one making me go atop a clock tower, but I would be pointing a camera and it sure would not be at anything in the States, I have very little interest in going there these days. Protectionism is going to kill your country and I do not want to be there to see it. (let alone for the next terrorist attack)

So then, in real dollars, how much does it cost to set a leg in Canada?

SlutPup (7/12/2009) So then, in real dollars, how much does it cost to set a leg in Canada?
If you take the costs of the people involved as well as the physical properties involved, our hospitals tell us it costs about $1700.00. This is at most a four hour situation, for the hospital, not the leg lol.
