What if we didn't make it about NHB or any other room and just had a feature to ignore a certain person's icons/images on our site settings or ignore list? A person might want to view 90% of icons and images being shown but there is one or two people that they prefer to not see theirs even though they may or may not chat with the person/don't want to fully put the person on ignore and that would make that possible. I find all the ignore functions fine the way they are but I know I've had occasion to wish I could do something like that.

SanctimoniousPrick (2/4/2009)I am so sorry but I do not get it. You make a decision to enter a room with the following warning..
As "NHB" labeled rooms/forums can at times be an aggressive and unkind chatting environment, if you are upset by the content there we urge you to chat in another room. Beyond the previous listed infractions, anything else that takes place in a "NHB" labeled room is fair game. If you can not handle NHB then you should NOT use the room/forum. Note: Posting pictures is not against the rules UNLESS they are real pictures of a member (this includes family/friends etc.). Images should not contain another members Nickname and your Nickname can not contain another members Nickname (unless agreed to by that member). Attitude and Location lines are fair game for any flaming.
There are regular pictures which are not of a pornographic nature which equally disturb me as those of a nasty nature disturb you. I am likewise disturbed by women who come on as being 38 who after a chat or 2 turn into 16. I am more disturbed by that than having to look at someones choice of lifestyle.
What you dont' want is to put on pic ignore so you cant see yourself or your pals idea of what you are supposed to look like. It's all Icon addiction.
This is why I suggested not making it about NHB or any other chat room and simply abou a feature instead. Less to argue about that way.

SPrick...
i am not asking for anything like the stars and moon....
Cradz doesnt have to change a thing
This is a "suggestions" thread...nothing more nothing less
This is a "suggestion"...nothing more nothing less
no expectations, no worries
but its refreshing to know that i am not the only person on this chat-site that doesnt like vulgarity...is that a crime?
no, its just a persons own individual tastes....
and eveb if this "Suggestion" was put into place, not everyone HAS to use it...just those that dont want distasteful images floating on their screens
thats it.....

SanctimoniousPrick (2/4/2009)For your tastes, Sab?? You are of course shitting me? This is going to be an *a taste for all to live with* environment?
I am not unloading on you, I find you very very personable but I feel that if you do wander into the room dedicated as NHB - you have done so by accepting these rules and these conditions. You have accepted behavior, dialogue and the visuals. * By entering these "NHB"forums you are confirming you are over the age of 18 and have read the NHB Rules.
As per some saying that NHB is not monitored? Here is the chat room statement posted. * All areas are actively monitored by Security to ensure the safety of our chatters.
I see cradz has made himself open for changes. Not to advise him of his duties or rights, - he is the owner after all; but dealing in the issues of what is acceptable to chatters in a *No Holds Barred* environment as they concern a handful of people, I think somehow it speaks of a blind man telling a crooked woman to go straight to hell.
You come in, you take the abuse, you look at the dumb ass pics and you get used to them - and if you feel the pics or the language impose on your personal attitude and conscientiousness you use this thing called the ignore button.
I question this, if one is so wholesome as not to entertain a situatuin as that which you find in NHB in real life, - why do you even bother to accept it in NHB? Does this come from an old saying... Treat a Queen like a Bitch and a Bitch like a Queen?
I am not saying any of this for a personal gain, there is zip all to gain here for me. Entertaining chatters have left NHB to carry on in real life and unfortunately it has left the room open for the mundane.
What happened to the *pics off* choice - Sab? Or tell me Sab, - if you keep your pics on off - will it stop your aggrandizing self from viewing your OWN or YOUR PALS boring icons as well? And why even bother? Is the Icon next to your Nic actually YOU? Or isn't this entire issue about ICONS - and not you?
I acknowledge I can turn all pics off. But there are some awesome icons out there, as well as ones I don't particularly like. Aggrandising self? I suppose I can accept that...because I quite like icons. So no, I don't turn all pics off. I was never complaining about them, but I was supporting the ability to choose not to see certain icons. I'm not going to kick up a fuss if it doesn't happen. This was just a suggestion that I chose to support.
But again, I'd like to point out that no one has said anything about blocking the images for everyone. I don't believe Xanthea, as the original poster, was insinuating that this should happen. Again, no one is looking to change the nature of NHB as a chat room. I see it more as a suggestion to alter the pics off option, so you can turn certain pics off, but not all. And only for the individual person's account.
So yes, I used "my tastes" as an example. Because it would be my account only that would be affected, if I switched certain icons off. Similarly, I'd assume you would be able to turn off certain pictures that you were uncomfortable with, without affecting the nature of an NHB chat room.
Apologies if I wasn't clear in my previous post. Hopefully this has clarified it. I wasn't intending this thread to be about me and shaping the room to my tastes. Was using it as an example to illustrate that everyone's tastes are different.
