| | | | i think the "cliffhanger" was a bit out of their control, due to the strike. If they had been able to pull together their full season on schedule, i think it might have played out differently.
shakey: welcome! i don't think they've explained the bear, or the smoke monster. Yet. *G* i hope they explain the one on the island, and the collar that Charlotte found in - was it Tunisia? It's late, and i don't feel like looking it up right now.
3.2 is a pretty specific number, kelts. i'm sure that'll be brought up. Season 6, maybe?
0: i would think it's before the shooting - logically thinking, of course. Then again, we're dealing with time shifts here, so who the hell knows? i like the enlightened bureaucrat theory. Ben's proved that he isn't amoral - hence the "Not Yet" and his explanation of not wanting to kill "innocents" - but of course, he's deciding who's innocent and who isn't.
And oh yeah, there will be blood.

| | | | | The polar bears on the island are the ones that escaped from the Dharma facilities after Ben and the natives killed most of the Dharma people and took control. I think they were part of a genetic research program to adapt the species to different environments? The one in Tunisia, though, is unexplained. Only sensible idea given what we know for now is that it got shifted in space (and time? is that an archeological excavation and hence very old?) by the effects of the island anomaly.
The black smoke (which is the same as the monster that grabbed the pilot, it seems to shiftshape according to what abilities it needs) seems to be some kind of security system that went berserk. It is not clear if it was designed by Dharma and Ben's people failed to find out how to control it after the takeover, or if it a manifestation of the island's general mystical funkinness. Again, with only what we know at the moment, my personal choice is mystical funkiness. A technological system of that nature could only be explained as a nanofog, and I really don't see any references for Dharma getting anywhere that advanced in their research (as a science freak let me add: in the real world, nanotechnology with wide-area macroscopic effects and control is the hardest engineering problem ever faced by humanity - most sensible opinions among them in that field that I've read about think we'll need about 30 more years of hard work and obscene amounts of money to grasp with it, or else a massive state program in the scale of the Manhattan Project for a 5 year hit; part of the problem is that scaling up things to the level of an autonomous nanofog system is very very dangerous; google for "grey goo" to see one of the several nasty posibilities of failing to develop a proper nanomachine control system).

4.9 - The Shape of Things to Come
Ben! In the desert! In Halliwax's parka?! Halliwax was the doctor in the Orchid video, was he not?
i knew she was going to die, i just didn't think it would happen that suddenly, and that awfully. Keamy is doomed. i still wonder if Karl and Rousseau are dead though - those shots looked awfully high after that second look in the "previously, on LOST" mini-recap.
It was interesting to see the backstory behind Ben's recruitment of Sayid (answers, hooray!). He's so convincing as the "avenging angel", and yet as he walks away after Sayid asks "Who's next?", that tiny smirk...Ben is a maestro, playing each and every one of them until they sing his tune for him. Brilliant. Psychopathic, but brilliant.
Claire = glorified redshirt. i'm sorry, but that's just how i feel. The baby playing Aaron has more dramatic range.
We're starting to see the cracks in Jack's foundation. This is where he begins to fall apart (and I don't just mean his appendix).
And theeeeeey're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of.....wherever the hell they are....i really hope we get to see Jacob's cabin next week. i'd say Jacob too, but i can't be greedy, this -is- LOST, after all.
What did you think - yay, nay, WTF, etc?

| | | | | So what, does he wiggle his nose like samantha stephens and POOF! he's in Tufreakingnisia?
I loved and hated this episode I'll have to think more
But now we know Ben believes, or believed, in basic etiquette or rules Not so much anymore, eh? |
| | | | | *L* i know, i'm stumped as to how he got there. "I chartered a flight...." (doubt it)
Someone had mentioned that (yes, i know this is gross) when Ben yakked, it seemed similar to the juice they had Juliet drink just before they traveled to the Island. Could be reaching, yes, but then again...
"She's just a pawn." The shock on Ben's face, and the pain. Damn....and now an eye for an eye...i do hope that if (God forbid) Ben finds Penelope, it's -after- Desmond and she reunite. i love their story.
And how about that smoke monster? And the door with the hieroglyphics? It looked as if the writing underneath the hieroglyphics (lower half of the door) was a different form of symbols.
Sawyer + Hurley = Bromance. i really like the friendship between these two.

4.10 - Something Nice Back Home
Sorry it's going to be shorter and a bit more jumbled...there was a little situation involving a dead body outside my apartment complex that night, so my focus was a little off. *chuckle*
a few random thoughts:
Jack's scar...not there in the flashforward. Did he heal before he left the island? Time shift again? Is he really dead as Hurley thinks (and NO i don't think it's Purgatory)?
i knew that happiness couldn't last. Jack's too emotionally fragile. And Kate's just....well, Kate. (i'm not a big fan of Kate, sorry) i know some people don't like having episodes jump all over the place, but i'm really liking the way they're doing the flashforwards/"present day" scenes. They're letting us put together the timeline, like a puzzle, instead of dumbing it down and saying "OK, -here's- the way it all came about." Lindelof and Cuse must think *gasp* their audience is actually -smart-! SMRT!
Poor Hurley. i've enjoyed seeing his character develop over the past episodes. He's not a one-dimensional "dude". Considering the fact that he saw Jacob's cabin, i think he has some purpose back on the Island. i'm looking forwrard to seeing what is revealed to him - maybe he freaks out about it, which causes him to flee back to the States....
Charlotte, finally showing an inkling of character. And she speaks Korean (???)....please let her be more than a whiny bitch.
Jin, threatening Charlotte (and Daniel)...protecting his wife....that's -hot-.
Big Brother Sawyer looking after Claire....until she sees Daddy and walks off...i'm not a big fan of Claire either, so personally, if she's really gone, i won't be too sad. i just want to know what the heck happened to her.
Miles still sees dead people. That's a creepy talent.
i know i'm missing pertinent points. i'm sure of it. kelts, help me out? Please?

| | | | | 4.11 - Cabin Fever
John Locke, visited by Richard Alpert, as an infant, and a young boy...the mind boggles. i knew Richard doesn't age, but....Abbadon too!
While visions of Horace danced in his head...He seems like a nice enough hippie. Seemed. *d'oh*
Keamy is going mad, MAD i tell you!
"I'm not you." Damn, John. Hit him where it hurts.
I'm very interested to see where Hurley's place is in all of this.
Poor Captain. Poor hot Aussie Captain. (don't judge me)
So if the doc showed up dead on the island BEFORE he actually died....and before the soldiers went back to go torch the place.....
Ben not going into the cabin - the look on his face...that's the first time i've seen him truly afraid.
Claire! With Dad! Is she dead now? i'm thinking yes, since she didn't even seem to care about where the baby was. Then again, this -is- LOST...so who the hell knows?
Hurley and Ben having a moment. Over a candy bar. First the bottled water, now this....
Next week - back in the US, back in the US, back in the US of A....
Good episode! Not as action-packed as i thought it might be, but definitely a good "setup" episode for the remaining eps.

| | | | | What? No, seriously. What?
Sorry for missing last week. I'm all caught up now.
I simply have no idea what to say. I really enjoyed last week's episode a lot. This week just pissed me off. I guess because I don't really care about Locke's life story, even if he is the chosen one. And yeah, hottie Aussie captain rocked. Til he died. Bonus point for Eckley dying twice. Keamy needs the smackdown, hard. And as a fun fact, he's Canadian. I keep staring at him, thinking, why do I know this guy? And then it hit me. Anyways. Smackdown. Hard.
Claire and her dad, Jack's dad. Christian Shepard.....uh? Yeah.
dollie, they've lost me. This concept is over my head. I still want to see where it's going though. |
| | | | | i remembered the actor who plays Keamy (Kevin Durand) from a little movie called Mystery, Alaska. See what my brain decides to keep and what it throws away? Oy.
i like Locke, so i was interested in the back story. But even if you didn't care, wasn't it freaky to see Abbadon AND Alpert there in his history?
Yes, i'm thrown by all of it too, but i NEED TO KNOW what's going on. They haven't let me down yet *knocks on wood* when it comes to giving answers, and in spite of it being confusing, it's intriguing. And it's damn good TV.
Oh yeah, before i forget....."move the island"?!?
