| | | | I took a walk along the water's edge,
I tried to see what my reflection would show me.
But the water was too muddy,
And darkness was all I could see.
I sat along the water's edge,
And looked across the lake,
And I listened for what the world around me would say,
But roaring silence was the only sound that it made.
I feel like Ophelia,
Ready to float away with the tide,
If I close my eyes I can feel my hair swirl around me,
I can feel the water stinging my eyes.
I feel like my life is reflected in the muddy water,
So much muck staining my heart,
And I wonder how I could begin to repair this,
I'm lost as to where I should start.
As I walk along the edge of the water,
I watch my footing so I won't slip in,
And though I don't have an answers,
I know I will find them within.
So I thank the muddy waters,
For not carrying me away,
And sooner or later I'll find my path,
Even if it's just a few feet each day.
...But it wasn't until i gave up the control, That i finally found my freedom... |
