In this corner, the worlds greatest detective, the Dark Knight himself. The one. The only. BATMAN!!!! We know his skills, we know his attitude, we know what he can do. Do I really have to explain it? He is just cool.
Fact.
And his opponent, a fellow creature of the night. The blue elf known as Nightcrawler. He has a prehensile tail and feet, he can wallcrawl, he can blend into shadows, and he can teleport. Little BAMFs of sulfer all around. You saw him in the X2. He is wicked wild.

Batman will win this contest. I think it will be a great hand to hand combat match, both are very skilled in the martial arts.
I see Batman waiting for Nightcrawler to come to him with his teleports, and when it does, hit him with a few well placed blows for the KO.
Batman comes out on top.

| Batman. Sure Night crawler can teleport and do other interesting tricks, but look who Bats has taken on in the past! If there is any kind of weakness or any kind of kink in Nightcrawler's armor, Batman will pounce on it. His intellegence and experience will aid him.

Nightcrawler couldn't have been taken out by a better guy.
Seriously though...
Nightcrawler is highly agile (more so than Robin) so he can dodge Batman's strikes a bit better. He's also got a 5th body part (the tail) to attack with, and is concidered an expert swordsmen with a rapier as well. He can also teleport, which drains him, but not as much as those he carries, and if he got Batman just once, just ONCE...he could teleport bats about 15 times quickly and Bats would be out for the count. Nightcrawler would be woozy. Nightcrawler also has a natural (for him) ability to become completely invisible in shadows save his eyes. This was revealed in an old issue where the X-men were attacking Black Tom's castle. This invisibility is better than Bat's cloak....but Bats probably has some kinda goggle vision that could find Night's heat source....whereas Nightcrawler only has normal vision.
But Nightcrawler would have to grapple with Bats first...
And that's where el Flying Rotenta Mensch has the upper hand. More skill. More styles. More toys. Just better over all.
Bats is trained in fighting what he can't see...and well...Nightcrawler is kinda flowery in the smell department when he makes his lil clouds...so...
I give Bats this one by a long shot.
Still be fun to watch though because Bats would have to rely on close range fighting. His batarangs and explosives wouldn't work so good.

I agree with all the statements made in Batman's defense & I also
add Bruce Wayne's public persona & industrial/financial assets at-
the-ready versus Nightcrawler's inability to walk around in the
light of day without raising a few eyebrows due to his beastly
attributes. Our little friend Nightcrawler is outnumbered,
outgunned & grossly outclassed.
Plus, Batman's never alone, you forget:
- Alfred Pennyworth, formerly of British Intelligence.
- Azreal (during Wayne's temporary abscence after the battle with
BANE.)
- The variety of Batgirls (including "Future Police Commissioner
Barbara Gordon"/"Oracle" in the "Birds Of Prey" & "Batman:"
Beyond" eras.)
- Nightwing / Robin, Detective Dick Greyson, Bludhaven P.D.
- Tim Drake / Robin II
- The Huntress
- Oracle's "Birds Of Prey" Team @ The Watchtower
- Terry McGuiness / "Batman: Beyond" & Terry's buds.
So, no matter what happens, Nightcrawler can't be in two places
at once but Batman can be all over the world simultaneously by
MSN or Yahoo Instant Messenger connected to each of his team-
members' cellular camera-phones.

bats got it locked and its not even an issue of brains. if i fight came to a fight, batman is a relentless near demonic fighter. nightcrawler only looks the part. now if this was a sword based duel i might be more inclined to give mr wagner a fightin chance in that (not formal trained but her has often enough proven to be an exceptional fencer)but once batman loses his sword, nightcrawler is a goner. "Honestly... people who wouldn't be caught dead in a bad movie or ill-fitting clothes will go months or years with the wrong person! It's all baffling!"
