You have to realize that Admin has three to over-see the daily operations of the Pork.
Put the same scenario in front of three seperate people, we all are not going to see it in the same light.
This is why I made my best judgement call on moving the Gor Boards.
Cradz is at work full time during the day.

Cradz...first i want to thank you for 'cleaning this up' and removing the negative.
Secondly, i want to apologize to Savage and KnightHawk for 'reacting' so quickly to what i perceived as negative. i would never intentionally single anyone out or cause hurt and i'm truly regretful for my attitude...it wasn't becoming as a submissive, and more importantly...it wasn't becoming to the woman that i strive to be.
To those of you that have contributed in such a positive and supportive manner...thank you very much. To you, i also owe an apology. If you're still interested, and i've received several pages to indicate yes...then we'll continue with the planning.
i have a hectic work week ahead (thanks to *Masters* Sarbanes-Oxley...~laughs..rolls eyes)so it may be the weekend before i can get the room up and running. Please know, at this point, the room will only be used for planning and will not be Gor chat/roleplay. For those of you that have expressed interest, i'll page you later this week to check your schedules so that we can schedule a time for the first meeting.

tangled, to answer your first question then yes.. i am all for a Gor room.
i however would not use it unless i was allowed to watch, not because i wouldn't be allowed, but because i belong to SW... not some guy who may come from no where and try to tell me i was then His. i think not. i belong to no one but Her *smiles* Nor would i want to be raped and beaten and "killed"
If there is a Gor room created i agree with SW, there should be rules in place. For example, should they flood the chamber and start throwing their weight around i would then consider that harrassment. i have no interest, i do not go into their room and do that to them so why would i accept that?
i'm not saying that they can't come into the chamber.. not at all.. but if you allow that crossover to occour then i think you'll find way too many folks will not tolerated it.

i hear what you're saying, sweetheart...but this isn't some kind of cult that's seeking 'converts'. And the creation of an alternate type of chat room isn't threatening. We encounter people in chat all the time that we have a hard time tolerating...no matter what room we're in...including the Chamber. i utilize that wonderful option of 'clicking'. And in truth, the only chat experience that i'm responsible for...that anyone is responsible for...is our own.
Again, what everyone needs to remember is...that this will be a user owned room. This isn't Pork sponsored and i don't see any reason for concern. It isn't a room for everybody...actually...will probably only suit a few. i simply asked if there was an interest. There's much to be decided about the kind of environment that it will be; however, as with any other room, there will be rules posted at the 'entrance'...probabably with a link to the associated website for anyone new to read...BEFORE they decide if it's even a room they'd like to visit. i'm glad that it's sparked interest...it bothers me that it became a point of dissent and controversy.
BTW...i've seen it mentioned a couple of times about the rape and killing. i've chatted in a Gor room(s)off and on for years...and i've never yet seen anyone *killed or raped*. i personally don't believe in 'forced collaring' but again, it will probably depend on the 'region'and the type of chat experience wanted. Either way, there will be clear cut expectations *before* anyone enters.
i'm delighted to talk to you about this...we had a brief conversation about Gor long ago...and i appreciated the questions and curiousity you showed.
Thank you, bronnie...for comments...and raising the flag about concerns. From a chat perspective though..i'd encourage anyone to use the ignore option anytime the chat experience is disrupted. i have no control over how anyone uses chat...only me.

bron - I think there is a lot of misconception about rape, beatings, and being killed. In the books, women rejoiced (for the most part) in being slaves. Some Free Women even submitted because they felt the desire to do so.
Coincidentally, the vast majority of women who come to Gor for role-play do so to be slaves instead of FW.
However, in the books there were far more FW than slaves.
Men did have love slaves and some did hold their slaves in high regard. It is said that entire wars have been fought on Gor over the beauty of a slave. That hardly sounds like the rape, beating, and killing that seems to be ever present in this discussion.
Women did have their place though. There were serious infractions that can cause a FW to be collared. Truth be told, the vast majority of men did not want to collar FW which is an oft played misconception in the online world.
As for beating, killing, and raping, well punishment was rare and deserved. Sometimes it was done to remind a girl of her place. How many times do you see in D/s when a girl is bad she gets punished? I see this as no different.
Rape was done, but in certain circumstances. A man might "rape" a woman who they captured to make her theirs. However, I don't know what you call rape, because by the end of the "rape" she was moaning and weeping and begging to be his...at least in the vast majority of cases.
Killing was done only if necessary and for a serious offense. However, why would a guy want to kill her? Slaves are worth money so if he really had a problem with a girl, then chances are:
A. He did not have a connection or affection for her
B. He sold her for her continuous disobedience.
I assuming Gor will be done as more of a RP and if so, you have to realize, RP and RT do not mix or at least they should not mix so what happens in Gor should have little to no effect on anything in any other room. Of course, if someone wishes their slaves to submit in "gorean" fashion that may be present in other rooms.
However, a true follow of Gor does not thrust his beliefs on those he knows are not interested. So, I'm not seeing a mixing issues here.

i have created a temporary room for now (i read that there had to be one in place before a room could be purchased). i had no idea what to call it until we meet and plan what the setting will be. In the interim, i've named it Lar-Torvis...this can be changed later.

we'll use this for meeting schedules, discussion agenda, meeting notes, etc.
Once the roleplay 'setting' has been decided, the Pork boards can be used for characters, open discussions, etc.

even if there were no rapes and killing i still would not use the room.
i have little tolerence for Men who think they can do as they please
for me, if it isn't SSC or RACK then it's not in my best interest to go within the bounds of which the danger lays..
if i want danger, i'll ask SW for a mind bender to keep me occupied..
i have always been facinated by the slaves of gor.. they create an image that you can always see within your minds eye and that is without a doubt a wonderful thing.. but i could not participate in such an activity..
i well remember our conversation about Gor long ago and enjoyed it also *smiles* perhaps my curiousity will allow me to search and discover that Gor is not all bad.. but still.. i know deep within my heart that i could never submit to Another.. i have tried.. *smiling*..

alright, I am lost here. I no where see where tangled had said "anybody" had to go to Gor. Nor did I see where anybody had held gun to someones head and are making them attend with set rules that goes against their beliefs, rituals and or BDSM ways, whether be Doms, Dommes and or subs/slaves.
All I see here, is, tangled trying to create another room for any of interest or fondness of Gor. And for Cradz to enjoy filling His pocket a bit more. LOL, jk Cradz.
Seriously folks. NO, Gor is not for everybody. And what is done there for the most part is indeed fantasy.
However, there is much along the Gorean ways that is carried over into rt. That of the devotion and beauty of slave to their Master or Mistress. As well as the Warrior Principals that many live daily whether in Military or Blue Collar world.
I agree that there should be set grounds. One thing I firmly believe is a setting need be made and not neutral room where all of Gor is part of. From all the sites I had gone to, I find this creates havoc. Since not one set of rules or justifications from quotes can be used to solve arguements. Instead quotes being pulled out of hat to solve an issue, that has nothing to do with its setting. For example, a FW in PortKar was more something kept behind closed doors. Where in the Forests, Panthers were very open and abrupt. So to have a FW and Panther in neutral area, FM would get pissy yet have no grounds to say anything. Or slaves that wear silks would be laughed at in north, where bonds are much freer and abrupt as well.
I suggest a certain setting, whether Wagon camps, Tavern, Inn or City should definitely be decided upon. So quotes can be used to justify and set "firm" rules to the type of RP.
