Survivor GELs Place
Can you Outwit, Outplay, & Outlast all the other challengers in the game? If so come try out for Survivor Gels Place.
One special note: please do not try to qualify if you cannot be present for the following schedule:
Each challenge will take place from 9pm-11pm Pork time
Saturday Nov 4, the qualifying challenge going from 15 to 10 participants
Saturday November 11th
Saturday November 18th
Saturday November 25th OFF for holiday
Saturday December 2nd
Saturday December 9th
Saturday December 16th
The final three challenge & GRAND PRIZE WINNER- This date will be coordinated on availability of participants. If all can make it on Saturday December 23rd it will be held on that day. Otherwise, it will be held on Saturday December 30th.
If you feel you will be able to be present for each challenge then the qualifying rules are as follows:
On Thursday Oct 26th I will post the “qualifying” thread on the discussion boards under “GEL’s Place survivor qualifying”
The first 15 chatters to post on this thread will be accepted into the “qualifying” round. I will announce who the 15 are on the same thread and page them to let them know they are in the “qualifying” challenge.
All 15 chatters will then compete on Nov 4th in a qualifying challenge for a spot on the survivor teams. Only 10 will be selected.
The challenge and the rules for the qualifying challenge will be explained on the 4th prior to the challenge, so be sure you arrive on time (7pm pork time).

| Vaughan and Jerseygurl.. I'm happy to see you are going to play but you have to wait until Thursday and post on the thread that reads "Survivor Qualifying Sign up".. We are really excited for the game to start..should be lots of fun..just like the show *eg

SURVIVOR GEL’S PLACE GAMEPLAY
Survivor GELs Place will play as close to the Survivor reality TV show as possible. Obviously the challenges will be different, since it will be rather difficult to have a canoe race online, but I think the challenges in this game will be fun, interesting, as well as, of course, challenging.
Every night there will be an immunity challenge, where someone will get voted off and some nights there will be a reward challenge. At the final challenge there will also be a jury for the final two Survivors and, of course, a Grand Prize for the sole Survivor.
Reward challenges- these will be announced the night that they are to take place and will take place before the immunity challenge. The reward will apply to all on the tribe that wins the reward unless, of course, you are voted off that night. Once the tribes merge then it will apply only to the person that wins No rewards will be shared after the tribes are merged. The rewards will be the same for each reward challenge:
One month free membership or 10 icon slots
Immunity challenges- Every night there will be an immunity challenge. Some nights (unlike the reality show), because of time constraints and number of people playing, two people will be voted off. This will be announced the night that it is to take place.
Just like the show, the tribe that loses the immunity challenge will go to tribal council. This is where they will vote one or possibly two of their tribe mates off. After about the third immunity challenge the tribes will merge.(not going to tell you exactly when) Once the tribes are merged, the players left will vote on which “buff” they will use. They will also have to make up a new tribe name combing the tribe names.
Tribal council- First and foremost, tribal council is final! Once you are voted off you are off. Tribal council will work like this: We will make as many private/ passworded rooms as needed for the tribe going into tribal council so that you can go in and post whatever you want about the person you are voting off. One of us will also have the password so that we can tally the vote, copy & paste what was said. Tribal council postings will be posted in public at the end of the Survivor game. Very important! No one other than the tribe member/s is allowed in the private rooms.
Jury- After the merge, anyone voted off will then become a member of the jury who will have the duty of choosing the soul survivor once the final two is established. Now remember, these are people who have been voted off and may have grudges. Revenge..may be sweet for them *G
Grand Prize- This of course will go to the sole Survivor. The grand prize is 1 Year Pork membership or 1 year paid private room.
RULES
Now I know this is the part where I’ll hear the moaning and groaning but, as with every game, there are rules to be followed:
1.You must be present each week. Even if you have been voted off you should watch the game play so you can make a better selection when you return for the jury.
It is understood that sometimes R/t situations may dictate you cannot attend, but you must let everyone know.(tribe mates) A stand in will be allowed only once during the game. GEL must be notified that you cannot be there and be told who the person will be taking your place. The stand in must page or email GEL prior to the start of that weeks challenge (the sooner she is informed of a need for a stand in the better) The stand in must agree to follow all of the rules of the game.
2.“Tribal” icons or “buffs” must be used during game play for fast identification (these will be provided for you, yes even none members).
3.Secret alliances through private messages, MSN, AIM, etc are allowed
4.This cannot be stressed enough. Tribal Council is final. Once the tribe has spoken, the person is removed from the game.
5.Some challenges may encourage all tribe members to participate at once or may have periods of apparent “idleness” while the players think/execute a given task where normal chatting is allowed. However some challenges may not. When asked to refrain from public posting unless it is your turn, please do so. Too many warnings and you may be removed from the game.
6.As with all new things, mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a dispute or feel you were treated unfairly, please do not make a public spectacle out of it. Take it up in private with the hostess and everything will be done to correct the error or explain the misunderstanding. Remember, we are all adults here and this is for fun…which brings me to the last rule……

Just wanted to give a lil update to everyone wondering how Survivor GELs Place is going.,
well as expected when we do something new..we've encountered a few problems with the rules and the interpretation of them...but think we have been able to come up with agreeable solutions.. again we ask for patience by the tribe members..it is a difficult task to come up with challenges that we think are fun..ones you'd enjoy playin but also find challenging..that is why you wanted to play in the first place right??? *g..
anyway..we had our qualifying challenge..called musical Chairs.. the players needed to "take" a chair..such as "Chair 1" "Chair 2" by posting the chair they wanted in public..if someone else "took" the same chair..the first one posted per Pork Time got the chair and the other had to grab another chair before that one was taken as well...it wasnt as hard to do this time as there were only 11 players...but still it was enough fun to get things started..Catherine was a no show and Jerseygurl had rti that eliminated them both
The two tribes were formed..they had the task of coming up with their tribe names..they had to use the letters in either GELs Place or The Pork..or a combination of the two to come up with their name. this is what they came up with...
Blue Tribe- Scalp Glee consisted of-Vaughan, Liri, Sinnin, Big Bass, and sasah
Red Tribe-The Krop consisted of-Nightmare, carebear, Alexandria, catharsis, and stormlight
Week #1 November 7
Reward Challenge: Treasurer Hunt The tribes were given 10 items to find..

well confusion was wrecking havoc on both teams..the links they had to give us had to be direct links..there was confusion on who was to check what link..and so it was declared at first that the blue team won..but after I who has final say on all challengres checked the links I found one to be wrong and decalred The Krop winners..because the mistake was made both teams were given reward..
Immunity Challenge #1 Food Chain the tribes had to come up with food names that started with the letter of the food posted before them....but not only did they have to post a food..they had to keep a correct order of play..if they did not keep the correct order of play and post a correct food they were eliminated from play...that caused much confusion but it was fun to watch in a way...we expected whining but shhhhhesshhhhhhh LOL..anyway..the players did very well and took us over the time limit...it was getting late with no end in sight...so I asked what they thought would be a fair ending...much debate..I finally decided that the team with the most members still "alive" in the challenge won immunity..that tribe was The Krop..they now wear the immunity "idol" until this weeks challenge....Scalp Glee went to Tribial Council and after the votes were tallied..Sinnin was voted off of Survivor GELs Place....who will win this week? who will get voted off?? who will be the biggest whiner?...who will drive GEL to drink the most margaritas?????? come in and see *G
