| | | | A man has suddenly found it upon himself to either save a group of injured children in a burning hospital, some of which are orphans, or his wife, who he loves very, very much. Who do you think he should choose?
To rehash in a less dramatic way: Should one choose something close and dear or something which is fairly innocent, but incapable of saving itself?
To also make something clear, there's no way he can save both. At all. One or the other. No little twists or ingenious turns. This or that. Or, he could be crippled mentally by the immensity of it all and simply shut down, saving neither, but...That's not the answer I'm searching for. |
| | | | | in the end one must always save themselves. all other things go to the wayside.
the real question lies, which is more inportant to the being in question, being happy in their closest bonds, or the virtues of sacrifings and posing in martyrdom

| | | | | lets see... how can... we find a way around what you ask....
*...plots very carefully a way around this - so that both can somehow be saved...*
run down the list of local superheroes to call into action *flipping through the phone book* let's see, there's stupid-man... nah... he'd get everybody killed. ...beer-man.... thanks fer the offer, but I'll hafta pass saving people drunk = not wise. Osama-Bin-Laden-man uh, well... I don't think he'd save either unless you converted to Islam, sorry.... *sl*
ahh... here they are! call up Batman, Spiderman, maybe the Fantastic Four *coughs*
yup, indeedy-deed I find a way around everything, all I need is time.
that way... (if... it were possible.) batman saves the children and the others save the wife. and... in the end, everybody lives happily ever after! ...the end. *lol*
and... if... on the chance either happened to fail the task(s) given too them. ...they take the fall fer it. I don't think 'failing' is on batman's record tho... ...it'd give him like... an uber bad reputation.
see it is, fer the most part 'fail-proof' All bases seem to be covered. |
| | | | | My wife who I loved...she'd tell me to save the kids..and I would and die trying to save her too...end of my story
|
| | | | | (well... since I refuse to abide by the rules...)
There might be one other way of doing this. you have the wisest/eldest child lead the rest of the younglings out. While you go to help with getting your wife/husband out. Still a gamble and quite risky, I know, I know... but better than choosing/leaving one or the other behind to die.
but this is flawed... in that, they'd have to be in the same building / same room situation ...uber impossible if they are in opposite ones.
in which case, you've no real choice to begin with ...you'd have to go to the building closer too you... since you'd likely not make it too the farthest in time.
I still say call up osama bin laden man JUSTICE PREVAILS! (oops... on second thought, since you're not muslim *leaves them all to die*) *hee*
better to call up some close friends you take one building, while they take the other. ...but I guess that can't be done either
(*murmurs under His breath* that bastard...) *sl*This message was edited by RunSaber on 9-17-06 @ 10:55 AM |
