Post your comments/suggestions/bugs regarding the beta test of our new voice/video chat system.

While we're still in very early development of this system it's a great time for you to let us know what you like, don't like, would like in this system.

Again, this system is NOT replacing our HTML based chat rooms (we're working on upgrades for those too).

I would suggest more than 4 boxes, but thats a pipedream. maybe moving them to the side and puttign the emoticon list in a popup?"Don't blame me because I speak with infallible logic, stupid human"

Yea.. I think really what we need is a voice feature that everybody can use.

From what I've seen during testing the majority of the time folks only use the voice feature and don't show their cam.

So perhaps we need the 4 boxes AND a voice only feature that all users in the room can publish to.

The problem with adding more boxes is bandwidth. As the number of users grows there is an exponential increase in the number of streams required.

Yeah Everyone with Voice would be neat , and have Cams as a special thing for like private or user created rooms (if thats possibe)"You were from a perfect world
A world that threw me away today
Today to run away"

They're coming to get you Barbra

Is there something that I'm doing wrong when I try to connect to the voice chat and it starts to connect and then says I was disconnected from the server..?

This happened to me several times last night as well as a couple of times today...

Or is it a bug in the system?

Last night I was in the chat just fine and left for a few... tried goin' back and every time I entered my user name and hit submit it would try to connect and then a few seconds later say that I was disconnected from the server...

There were several that could not log in. Last night we asked everyone to log out and back on. Once we did that, those that could not get in, got in.

yea.. looking at the server logs we're reaching a limit on the server bandwidth (I set a cap so it doesn't impact peformance of our main site).
