I want to take a moment to offer prayers for the miners and their families in West Virginia. May they find inner strength to guide them and help them through this trying time~

Amen to that. I can't begin to imagine what those families are going through. They announced on CNN just a bit ago that they had found one body.
May God bless those miners and their families.

I was watching CNN when they found the miners. It made me teary. The cheers. The crying and show of support.
I had not thought about such an accident happening in the U.S.
Prayers for the family that lost they family member.

I cannot believe how the media and whoever else screwed this up.
I'm watching CNN this morning around midnight Central, and they're talking about how 12 of the 13 were found alive. They're showing the families and friends at the church, all smiling and celebrating.
Then, I turn it on this morning, and it turns out that only one survived?
How on Earth do you do that? How do you provide false hope to all those families and friends? How do you provide false hope to the nation?
Whoever told people that the 12 were alive should be ashamed of themselves.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the 12 who died. This message was edited by X-Man on 1-4-06 @ 11:49 AM

I'd read this morning that the someone had overheard folks talking (I'm assuming those in charge) and spread it via word of mouth without confirmation. You'd think though that the news stations reporting 12 alive would have confirmed that with whomever was in charge of the rescue efforts before reporting it to the general public.
and I agree.....shame on whoever it was that got the information wrong.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those families.

having been born in wva this hits home for me very sad and most cruel that these peopel were led to believe through whatever f*ck up their loved ones were alive only to then be told it was a mistake how horrible i hope we can find 1% of the money and effort we are pouring down the rathole of iraq to help our own hardworking americans and their families. god bless these people

I was talking to my dad about how this error could have been made. He thinks some one had gotten the numbers backwards.
I think some one might have heard some one else talking and misudnerstood. Every one wanted to hear they were alive. So that is what someone heard.
I watched as Cooper Anderson told the world the miners were alive. He, like everyone else, wanted to ehar that. He was relieved. Families were rejoicing. It was a rush.
I do agree that the media needs to take extra steps to make sure that they report is correct. Was it Regan that was reported dead then the media had to change its story. I can still hear the reporter yelling about getting the facts straight.
In this case I feel an extra sadness for the families. They waited, worried they were dead. They hear they were alive, then foudn out they had died. What an emotional roller coaster ride from hell.
