Member I met Diane too early

She was a great blue whale
immediately stopping time
until she slid back into the depths.

I was the krill
one of millions passing through her
sustaining life.

I met Diane too early

She was a gorilla
a link between two worlds
a wealth of knowledge unknown.

I was a mosquito
buzzing in her ear
a minor inconvenience

I met Diane too early.

She was the bald eagle
symbol of a forgotten time
living above the rest.

I was a mouse
dragged up to be offered
to desperately hungry mouths.

I met Diane too early.

She was a perfect rose
in an overgrown garden
her thorns armed.

I was an aphid
bypassing the thorns
ready to destroy.

I met Diane too early.

She was the fluffy white clouds
in a brilliant blue sky
people saw what they wanted to see.

I was the lightening
issuing thunderous warnings
before striking her down.

I met Diane too early.

She was the earth
giving ,giving ,giving

I was the tsunami
drowning, drowning, drowning

She is the marble headstone
soft grass, bright flowers, cool shade.

I'm the unmarked grave.
brown grass, dull weeds, hot heat
