The U.S. Constitution presents citizens of the United States, to large degrees, with various freedoms.

However, you cannot quote the US Constitution in The Pork, and think that it gives you some kind of weight in an argument. I personally try to afford everyone as much free speech as is reasonable, but ultimately, The Pork is under no such obligation.

I only write this because I seem to be seeing an inordinate number of reports from the security folks when questioning people on age issues, who say "It's my Constitutional right to use whatever handle or post whatever I want."

Just making sure folks realize that this is a business with rules not governed by the Constitution.-CM

Sorry, to bring up a dead topic, but the Constitution does not grant people rights, those rights are implicit with being human. What the Constitution does is provide very limited powers that the government can use to govern, and it severely constrains the actions of the government.

It seems to me, that if people actually understood what the Constitution was, we wouldn't have this epidemic of idiot-politicians who draft unconstitutional laws. Oh, who am I kidding...

god grants rights, the constitution states rights, the law (most of the time) protects and controls rights. some rights like life liberty n pursuit of self (not everyone must be happy to be themself) are more important than speech or religion as shown in laws passed. Just like my religious beliefs that those who are incapable of thought do not deserve life are protected enoguh to be stated under the current laws, and likewise the laws hinder any hope of any religious purge of such people to protect their right to "life".

hope this doesnt get you guys sued and have a happy

While I agree that a "business" can basically do what it wants, I couldn't resist responding to one comment here.

"...the Constitution does not grant people rights, those rights are implicit with being human."

I think there are a lot of countries, and hundreds of thousands of people, around the world who would say that a government can protect/provide (or in their case, deny) those rights.

A government can do as they see fit - and if people don't like it, they can leave. Don't believe it? Refer to the year 1492, the year 1776, and others.

Brits not like sex... Hmmmmm

However it also seems a mute point about the Constitution thing. I mean it's not just one nationality which chats in these chat rooms. However it is owned by an american ISP area? (not sure on Juristiction however CM knows and I'll leave i to him to explain better than I can).

As the Pork is a business and it grants people across the globe access to talk to one another one would assume they have to cross the barriers a little and try and make a reasonable line in the sand we can all play up to but iof we cross are chucked out on our ear.

I for one applaud the steps being taken at this time for security measures and don't see a point in bringing in a Constitution thing when the Pork is the people who decide behaviour standrads in it's own domain.
